Souvenir from the Desert

A blend of earthy tones swirls in an abstract dance, evoking nature’s calm and the warmth of memory.

This piece is an expression of joyful childhood memories—soft moments inspired by the sand tones found in the Libyan desert. It brings to mind the delicate glass bottles filled with layered colored sand, the kind we kept as souvenirs from the desert—objects that felt magical growing up.

Due to the country’s structure, my father, grandfather, and many family members worked in the oil sector. So the desert was always present in the background of my life—even though I’ve never physically been there. That souvenir from the desert became a central object in my memory, and this piece is my way of honoring that.

I LEFT WORDS BEHIND TO SPEAK IN COLOR AGAIN —RAW, FEARLESS, LIKE THE CHILD I ONCE WAS, SHAPING EMOTIONS INTO SOMETHING REAL AND TRUE.
